Drinking Water & Sanitation

Water is the elixir of life. Sanitation is essential for good health and dignity. Both so basic that most of us take them for granted. Yet, both so neglected that thousands die for lack of them. We dig tube wells, provide water tankers and hand pumps, to provide clean drinking water, especially in the drought prone areas of Rajasthan. Sanitation is also a major concern for us. We do all we can to ensure that hygienic standards are adhered to; that lives are led with ease, dignity and comfort.

GCK aims in availability of safe drinking water which is a major concern. Recurring drought has broken the backbone of rural economy. To add on the presence of fluoride has damaged peoples life irreversibly. To alleviate the acute water problem, tankas and reservoirs have been constructed for rainwater harvesting and availability of drinking water. In order to sensitize the rural people to vital issues concerning water, community participation was activated. In implementing all programme activities, Village Development Committees [VDC] have an important role. GCK also takes into account and ensures sanitation by promoting healthy hygiene behavior. To make it more meaningful construction of toilets have made a significant role for the beneficiaries and IEC activities were promoted to create awareness and thereby creating an enabling environment for water and Sanitation.
