Income Generation Activities
GCK’s key strategy for securing the livelihood for the affected people is to provide economic support for the rural poor and provide rural women with an opportunity for social integration. This has been accomplished through dairy, which is the most common means of income-generation within this area and in order to maintain its effectiveness GCK conducted regular and stringent workshops regarding animal care and dairy marketing. Linkages were made with dairy cooperative society, veterinary department, insurance agencies and financial institutions to get various supports. As a positive approach resulted in substantial increase in the income and the nutritional intake of the children in the families also improved.
Following the success of IGP, GCK initiated imparting trainings to rural mojri (Shoe Making) artisans under RUDA Goverment of Rajasthan from this year.
